No matter where you are in North America, there’s bound to be a CBG employee hard at work. Our experienced sales personnel work throughout the U.S. and Canada helping our dealers grow their business. Our customer service hub is based in Salt Lake City, UT with service personnel located across all four time zones to support our customers looking for answers. Our leadership team, based at our fabrication facilities as well as our Cerritos, CA and Oakville, Ontario corporate offices provides strategy and direction.  We all share a common vision that Business is People.

Wayne Gourlay

President

Wayne started his career in direct selling right out of college and has since worked in one facet of window coverings or another, starting in the industry as a product manager where he developed his love for all things product. Following the start up of a fabrication company, he and a couple of partners, including Jeff Gain, started Flexo Solutions Manufacturing, which manufactured cellular shades and developed innovative products like TriLight Shades® that continue to provide a competitive edge. Shortly after Hunter Douglas acquired Flexo in 2006, Wayne joined Custom Brands Group, bringing his industry knowledge, passion for product and innovation, and leadership to our organization.

Pete Boleneus

General Manager CBG McKinney, TX
35+ years industry experience

Pete started his career with Hunter Douglas in 1985 and worked in Sales, Plant Management, and General Management.  In 1997 he co-founded Timber Blinds which he sold to Hunter Douglas in 2003.  After 36 years in the industry and his association with Hunter Douglas his passions are for window coverings, manufacturing excellence and helping others succeed and reach their potential.

Paul Chapple

President, Shade-O-Matic (Canada)
13 years industry experience

After graduating from the University of Windsor, Paul started his career selling environmental treatment products to help improve air and water quality. Very quickly he was able to focus on his real passion – building companies. For the next several years he was able to build two successful start-ups and rebuild a company that had been struggling for many years.

Paul began his window covering career in 2008 as the General Manager of Turnils Canada.  Turnils is the wholesale division of Hunter Douglas selling components, precision tooling and creative sampling to window blind manufacturers across Canada.  In 2015, Paul was promoted to the position of President of Shade-O-Matic, one of the largest window covering providers in Canada. Currently, Paul has been given the responsibility to manage both of these amazing companies in Canada based on his unique experience within the company and industry.

Chris DeBella

Vice President, Sales
26 years with Custom Brands Group

Chris leads all sales within the organization. Starting as an inside sales representative, Chris has worked at various sales roles within the organization before advancing to our head of sales. Chris has continually demonstrated an affinity for powerful customer connections, seeking to deeply understand their business needs and then developing strong programs to help grow their sales and improve their profitability.

Michael Discenna

Vice President, Customer Service and Business Development

Michael started his career with Custom Brands Group right out of college as an Area Sales Manager in Michigan. Throughout his time with CBG, he has worked sales, marketing, customer service, as well as on cross-functional projects within Hunter Douglas. Today, he focuses on the customer experience, which includes everything from product to service and satisfaction.

Jeff Gain

Vice President, Operations/ILM General Manager

Jeff literally grew up in this business, starting work at his dad’s wood blind manufacturing facility as a teenager. His hands-on experience with every facet of our operations, as well as his many years of experience working in and leading manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Mexico, provides a solid foundation for his leadership role of our extensive — and growing fabrication — complex.

Claire Nelson

Vice President, Marketing

Early in Claire’s career, she spent more than five years in the window coverings industry. She branched out to help build successful marketing programs for many other home product related businesses, only to rejoin the industry and become a major marketing force at Custom Brands Group. She and her team provide our customers with the physical and digital tools they need to successfully market our products.

Tim Powell

A numbers guy through and through, Tim leads our finance, accounting, and credit and collections operations. Whether it’s the monthly close, detailed product costing reviews, or the annual budgeting process, if there’s a number involved, it’s guaranteed Tim’s leading the project, thoroughly.

Carmen Singer

General Manager
41 years Vista Products

As one of the original founders of Vista in 1980, Carmen served as the controller for many years; as is typical for rapidly growing businesses, she was also involved in all aspects of sales, marketing, and day-to-day operations. In 2007, Vista became part of the Hunter Douglas family and her role expanded to General Manager of Vista in 2015. She currently focuses on process improvements, production, team member development, and working to facilitate the Vista team’s integration with CBG.
